Spring Tea Party Blog Hop

Hello friends.  It's time for our Spring Tea Party Blog Hop 2019 edition!!!  I am beyond excited to be teaming up with 23 fellow bloggers to bring you this fun and ultra-romantic Spring Tea Blog just in time to inspire for Mother's Day.  So pull up a comfy chair, grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and ready for an overdose of loveliness.

A big thank you to our gracious and talented friend Amber Lyon of Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing it all and bringing this group of talented bloggers together. If you are coming over from Cecilia of My Thrift Store Addiction, welcome.  I am so glad that you are here today!  Make sure to check out all of the links at the bottom of this post for more beautiful tea time inspiration.

As little girls, my sister and I would wake up very early on Mother’s Day to make our mom a special breakfast.  It wasn't anything fancy or exceptional, but it was our own little way of celebrating her and showing her how much we loved her and appreciated all that she did for all of us.  We would go with our Dad to the local market and buy pretty pastries, fresh fruit, and flowers to make her our own version of a delightful and tasty breakfast.  We would arrange everything carefully on a tray and bring it into her bedroom with our Mother's Day card and the biggest smile you ever saw....

Dinner was always Dad's treat!  I remember him bringing all of us to New York's Chinatown for dinner which was Mom's favorite place dine fifty something years ago.  Yikes!!!!

These days, most of our holidays and special celebrations are spent at home.  Especially on Mother's Day!  Mom much prefers quality time with her children and grandchildren over any fancy restaurant or expensive gift. And when it comes to my Mom, I will always make the occasion extra special.

The inspiration for this table came from this ultra-feminine cake that I picked up at our local supermarket and the exceptional monogrammed tea set from Sasha Nicholas.  I loved the muted pastel tones and understated elegance that both brought to my spring afternoon tea honoring Mom.  For those of you that know me, you know that I cannot resist setting a feminine and romantic table.  And when it comes to Mom, she will get all the pretty spring flowers and luxuries that she deserves.

Since we are celebrating spring, the perfect place to set this charming table in our garden.

I began my table with a basic white linen table cloth and added a vintage topper for textures and visual interest.  I began my plate stack with blush dinner plates, added a Sasha Nicholas salad plate and petite monogrammed bowl.  Gold flatware, vintage goblets and Sasha Nicholas Tea Cups complete my place setting.

For drama and a touch of spring, I added fresh hydrangeas on a simple pitcher and placed individual floral arrangements at each place setting.

Pearls, vintage glass perfume bottles and floral cards add a touch of charm and femininity.

A tea party does not have to be fancy, it can be as simple as pouring your favorite tea in a lovely vintage tea cup - It's about celebrating the season and taking a few minutes for yourself and appreciate the beauty that spring brings.

Thank you for your visit.  May you all have a most beautiful and happiest spring season.  Next up on the blog hop is Paula from Virginia Sweet Pea.  Be sure to give her a visit too for more delightful Easter inspiration.

You can check out more of this lovely Mother's Day table at Sasha Nicholas.

 Happy spring sweet friends,

Janet
