On our way home from the mountains, we stopped to eat lunch at a little German restaurant called The Berliner Kindl. The Berliner Kindl is in the town of Black Mountain. The restaurant is authentically German; a married couple owns and operates the restaurant, and the husband grew up in Germany.
We've eaten here before, and it's always a good experience. You can get sandwiches or an entree such as bratwursts, schnitzel, pork roast, kassler rippchen, served with potatoes and red cabbage. On this particular visit, my husband got a meal and I got the ham and swiss on rye sandwich with chips and a pickle. We had cherry strudel for dessert, and it was to die for.
I love the decor in the Berliner Kindl; it has such a Bavarian look and feel about it.
I love the lace curtains in the window. There were even lace panels on the skylight over our table -- so pretty!
The restaurant also has a small gift shop with all kinds of pretty German items -- love these beer steins.
And guess what? Lynn at Happier Than a Pig in Mud, if you're reading this, I found a girlfriend for Earl!
Isn't she just the cutest Fraulein? :)
As always, thanks for stopping by. I'm honored that you take time to read my posts, and I love your comments. Have a wonderful weekend.
